Spare tire for 2001 M5

Does anyone know if a donut spare from a 2011 328i size 125X80X17 will fit my 2001 M5. Like many of you I'm looking for some peace of mind on longer trips and have a chance to p/u this tire cheap.

Thanks

I don't know if the 328's donut will work, but bimmerzone came out with their own E39 M5 donut a few years ago:

Yeah - I checked that option out - but it will cost approx. $300 for spare and a jack vs. $50 for the one I can purchase if it will fit. ( he is also throwing in the jack)

Considering how often it would get used vs how often I use my trunk I'd rather carry a donut. I'm interested in if this fits as well as it opens my options while looking for a used donut.
