Passport SRX-Any installs?

OK, I've done my homework by searching this board, and the consensus seems to be Valentine One, mounted high to the left or right of the rearview mirror, powered by the green and white striped wire inside the sunroof/garage door opener box on the roof.

I guess I'm still a little reluctant to put a black box into my interior. Has anyone had a K40 or Passport SRX custom installed in their beast? If so, how do you like it? Does it give enough warning? Or should I just put in a V1?

Where did you have it installed? It's a little daunting. The only 3 places listed on the Passport site as being official installers in my area are Ferrari of Los Gatos, Claridges and Crown Chevrolet!

I can't remember if RAREM5 has the Passport SRX or something else. I know that he had a Passport setup custom installed in his beast. Might want to try PM'ing him.

I recommend the Valentine as well.

I've had a few radar detectors, but the Valentine is the best one. I had the Passport 8500 for about 4 months, and while its a very good detector, the Valentine runs laps around it. The arrows make all the difference in the world. It is also quite a bit more sensitive.

is the car leased? if not, what happens in a few years when better detectors are out? I skipped the stealth look in favor of simplicity- I dont want someone messing around with my car- and also portability.... I know a guy with a passport stealth install in his Z8 and he has been happy with it.

I did a search through my image archives and came up with this. This is where RAREM5 has his SRX installed:

Personally, I'm also another V1 advocate. I have mine right below my rearview mirror but I plan to move it up above to the left of the rearview mirror which seems to be a popular location for most folks on here. Just have to extend the hardwired cable first.

I also have the passport installed, and in the exact same place as RareM5's. It works great, the mute button is great, only drawback is the mounting, which happens to be the best place to do it, obstructs the digital display in the panel.

This is why I had my main module relocated. Check it out:
