M5 with Very High Miles

Hey Guys,

I wanted to get your feedbak on an M5 with very high mileage. What do you think of an 00 M5 with over 60K miles? I mean that is a A LOT of miles for any car. I know BMWs, especially, the new ones, if taken care of will last a very long time. Even M cars. But, the key is, proper maintenance.

So, what do you guys think?

Thanks,

Chirag

No problemas!

Mine has almost 60K (92000 km) and it runs like a clock,
and I still have the original clutch.
If it well taken care of it shouldn't be any problems.

Regards
Pelle

i dont think there is a problem, mine has 54,000 miles. hard miles. stop and go everyday in the city. i still have the original clutch. i think the car is only getting broken in. depending on the city your buying it from it could mostly be highway miles. more highway miles is better than less city miles. i think.

In my opinion, the miles is not the issue, rather how the previous owner treated the car. Even if it was driven hard on a track, it should be fine, as long as the previous owner was meticulous about pampering the car. These are very stong vehicles that should be able to go for well over 200,000 miles, and much more than that with an overhaul at that point.

Cheers.

Hi!

The former owner of the car used it even in the winter time.
So I had the front repainted and the lights changed to angel eyes because of the grit they strew on the roads in winter here in Sweden.
Execcpt from that nothing more than some tires and brake pads
You can have a look at some pics of the car at

Regards
Pelle

I missed that I had the speedometer changed.

Nice autobahn run

Pelle,
Nice car. Did the speed limiter kick in at 250 KPH (155 MPH)?

IMHO, BMW mechanicals are fairly bullet proof, its just the electricals go haywire sometimes.
