You are best of trying to find an independent mechanic who will come with you and look over the car. Most likely, the dealer is not going to be up front with you concerning history of the car. I always inspect all my cars before buying, you will be amazed at what you can find out about the car. Frame damage, leaking seals, bent wheels, clamped on stock exhaust (means there was an aftermarket exhaust on the car), etc. The M5 in particular is a car that will get beat on as it is a high performance cult car. Everyone who owns an M5, knows how to use it and drive it. Good luck.
