Som facts from the recent BMW Car:

Programme presented at Geneva Show 1992. Cars presented was a 850 CSi and a 7 series E32. These had special colours and interiours. But the very first truly personalized car was the Karl Lagerfeld 750iL made for a hotel in Berlin:

10% of the customers opt for Individual.

Less specialized Individual cars does not go through the BMW Individual factory in Garchin but are fitted at regular production lines. The special items are transported from Garching to the plant.

The most exclusive Individual cars are the special commision cars such as the Lagerfeld car which takes several days to build. The are produced around 600 yearly.

BMW Individual orders can be processed through any BMW dealer although you have to wait a bit longer for it to get produced.

Wow! Interesting seats in that 7er! Didn't think that BMW offered seats with this sort of pattern.

Ahhh! Just look at that beautiful E38 rear-end -- simple, clean, elegant. Just the way a BMW should look or should I say used to look before they released the leash around you know whose neck.
