        SS exhaust/X pipe Ny owners

I'm seriously considering this mod. I believe RARE recently posted some pics of his new exhaust and I must admit the look of the SS is IMO awesome. A few questions for any/all NY owners who have completed this mod.

How much for the parts & labor? Where did you buy the parts?

Who handled the installation (looking for reliable NY/CT/NJ service who have experience with SS exhaust.

Anyone in the Westchester area with the SS + x pipe? I'd love to take a look (and listen)!

        Thanks!

I've had SS exhaust without X-pipe and they are great. Low rumble but not loud. Will be louder with the X, but B&B with X is the loudest. I'd recommend Small Car in Flushing, Queens.

        thanks Doc

do you have a pic of your car with the SS exhaust? I'm not looking for something really loud so I may go w/out the x pipe. How much did you pay and where did yiou get it?

        Thanks!

I can recommend an installation center for you.........

There is a place in Wyckoff New Jersey called MOTOR WORKS WEST. They are BMW specialists and an authorized DINAN dealer. They works on M5 cars all the time. They are approx. 20 minutes away from Manhatten. ask for DAVE B. Good luck.

both Small Cars in Flushing and Motorworks West in Wyckoff are great.
However i would recommend Motorworks west for any aftermarket install/modification.

I paid about $1300 ish for SS and about $500 for install. I think Small Car is concentrating more on bodywork but they may still do exhaust. If you do a search under Northeast meet, there will be pictures there from our previous adventures or BlueMax can quickly post one hear if he reads this.

        TMac,

Keep us posted on what you do. I'm also considering the SS exhaust and have started to look for a good price on them. So far www.penn-sport.net and Bimmertoys have the best prices (both around $600/each side plus shipping).

        ordering exhaust

The SS exhaust is on it's way!

I'm still looking for a reliable body shop to do the install. I'm in Westchester (Rye) Anyone know of a local shop that can handle the install?

        Congrats!

I'm going to go with the same setup (and time it with arrival of the Hamann headers so all installs can happen at once). What retailer did you use? What is the expected delivery time?

        thanks,

        Mike

tmacsilverm5 ,If you can't find an installer in your neck of the woods..........

Than I would suggest you go to a place In Bergen County NJ.
They are known as MOTOR WORKS WEST, located in Wyckoff. They are the ONLY independant BMW auto shop that is an autjorized DINAN dealer. They are excellent! They do M5 cars and 540 cars all day long! Ask for Dave.
