Anybody did Navigation screen upgrade?

Hi all,

I'm interested in upgrading my 2000 tiny Navigation screen to the latest widescreen version (2001 --> 2003). I know that there is a need to replace the CD-Rom system in the trunk.

I'm wondering what are the parts and how much is involved in this upgrade.

Any inputs is greatly appreciated.

I think Jason was thinking about it. Did you (Atomic80) do it?

I didn't do it. I already have the widescreen in my 2001 M5. You must be confusing me with the fact that I was considering upgrading to a DVD navigation drive from the current CD-ROM based one.

I think that INVICTO was the only one on here that actually made the upgrade from the 4:3 screen to the newer 16:9 widescreen navigation system. It's quite expensive from what I understand.

Try looking here

Under Navigation someone posted the parts list (but no instructions) for migrating from MKII to MKIII

Good Luck.

Mike

Now that tfung brings it up, I'm not so sure it was INVICTO. Maybe it was SVTWEB. I seem to remember something about applying this upgrade to SVTWEB's 528i or something along those lines.

Yes it was SVTWEB who did the upgrade..
do a search and you'll find the part numbers and stuff.

He also did the refrigerator upgrade on the rear seats.
