Anyone with access to a new ETK CD?

I just Found Bluetooth Kit Part numbers on a UK message board, and I was wondering if anyone here in the US might be able to check the newest ETK and see if they might be there as well.. This was posted on an M3 message board, so I'm not sure if the kits are specific to models. (I would think that the actual hardware would be the same across most models to save a little on production costs, but I could be incorrect) I would also assume that the snap in adaptor for the armrest would be model specific as I dont think the center armrest is the same in the 3's and 5's..

At any rate, its more info than I've been getting from BMWNA. According to them, Bluetooth is NOT AVAILABLE in any form in the US, Period. (Even though there are cars shipping currently with Bluetooth Preinstalled. I provided them with Photos of a new M5 with Bluetooth in the Nav Menus and they have yet to explain that to me.)

Here are the part numbers.

84 64 0 152 501 BMW Bluetooth Retrofit Kit
(from 03/2002 with option 640)

84 64 0 153 221 BMW Bluetooth Retrofit Kit
(from 03/2001 without option 640)

84 21 6 925 216 Ericsson T39 Snap-in Adapter
84 21 6 930 108 Nokia 6310 Snap-in Adapter

Thanks in advance.

This definitely will not show up in the US parts system just yet....your dealers will have to check with their PDC contact and see if they can obtain the part from Europe.

I have a copy of the Oct. 2002 ETK.

The Bluetooth Kit is not available for the USA as of the this version of the ETK catalog, but the parts numbers are correct for the UK and others.

Update

I review a newer version and found the following items available for the USA-E39 model.

84 21 6 925 216 Ericsson T39 Snap-in Adapter
84 21 6 930 108 Nokia 6310 Snap-in Adapter

What is option 640? Also, what about builds pre 03/2001? Is the retrofit simply not available? I think I remember seeing an internal BMW memo saying that the Bluetooth phones were not going to be offered for the older models. Am I mis-remembering?

New ETK is supposed to have some major changes for the m3 engine (fix the spun bearing problem and so on)

As far as I know, Option 640 is the overseas order code for the Bluetooth prep in the car.. (I believe that US cars geet it installed automatically.) We get alot of stuff standard that the folks overseas have to order seperate..

I'm a little fuzzy about the 3/01 date myself. I know there was a wiring harness change that happened sometime around 2/02 - 3/02 (depending on who you talk to.) I had figured that the Bluetooth kit would need the "New" wiring. Although I'm not sure about the 3/01. (That may have been a Typo there) When did the New Nav screen debut? If that was a 3/01 production change, maybe there is hardware/software associated with the widescreen nav that is required for Bluetooth.

I dont know much beyond the initial post as I have gotten Less then nothing from BMWNA. The Info I posted I found on a UK Message board. BMWNA is still insisting that Bluetooth is not available in the US, Period. (Even though I've sent them photos of US cars with Bluetooth in the Nav Menu)

Who knows.. Its out and available overseas right now. Which probably means that we will see it at Xmas time next year...

Option 640 is the mobile phone preparation (antenna and phone wiring).

All partnumbers are on the 11/2002 ETK CD so your dealer should be able to see them. And they are for both European and US cars!

What does the ETK CD contain? Parts catalog and repair instructions / SIBs?
