Good BMW Dealer Listing

Let’s create a list of good dealers for all to see, all I seem to see is bad dealer stories.

Maybe we can create a permanent On-line document with customer stories

I'll start by saying Dreher-Holloway in New Hampshire has always offered awesome service with loners even though I have not bought the cars from them.

I had an E46 M3 that I drove hard and participated in 5 track days.
One service visit I had the transmission that would pop out of gear sometimes when the engine was cold. I spoke with John (SA) about it and BMW NA replaced it with a new one without any hassle or questions. The trasmission did this from Day 1 but I didi not want to be blamed for misuse. I always was treated with respect as all my questions were answered.

I would have loved to buy my M5 from them but they only offered 36K for my M3, another dealer offered 42K which closed the deal. I will not take the car anywhere else for service. One of these days I will buy a car from them, I think I'm too much of a customer whore and have backed out of 3 deposits with them because I found better/different BMW's elsewhere.

Ask for John or Tia (SA), Mark in parts know's more about some BMW's than salespeople I’ve spoken to at other dealers

The address is
71 Portsmouth Ave
Stratham, NH 03885-2522
603-772-0000 Phone
603-772-9381 Fax

Good idea

I know we all know the issues with the ones we have - but how about a nationwide list of really good dealers in terms of service and product knowledge.

I know this will be a big factor in the next BMW I get.

Well if your making a list here is my vote for a top dealer on the east coast specifically the tri state area NY-NJ-CT

Competition & Sports Cars Ltd.
West Putnam Ave.
Greenwich CT.
203-661-1725

Their SA Peter Clark is Primo A#1 .....knows more about M Cars (& Porsches) then anyone I've met affiliated with BMW since I started driving one in 1988

Their sales staff is great as well especially Andrew Millar
They DONT CHARGE PREMIUMS either.....the M3 & M5 are offered at MSRP ALWAYS!!!

Give em a try

If your on the West Coast stop in and see Steve Thomas BMW. I have purchased many BMW's from them and they are great. Never mark up the M models which has helped me twice. Their sales people are very knowledgable and friendly. I wouldn't go anywhere elsr.

They are located in Camarillo, CA. Check them out!

I bought my car at VOB in Rockville, MD. The mechanics are good, but the Service Advisor I got was absolutely terrible, and they didn't really seem to care.
I moved to Durham recently and so far I have had great service from Performance BMW in Chapel Hill, NC. My service advisor is Scott Wilkins and I recommend him highly.

Exclamation Steve Thomas BMW

There have been several posts on this board stating that nothing but bad service and great trouble come from Steve Thomas, so everyone, beware the new poster who has just arrived to try and clear their bad name.

I think this is a really great idea, but IMHO we should have the same list for negative experiences too, so that readers can make up thier own mind. All posts saying 'So and So BMW are great' could easily be posted by employees of So and So, rather like m5ws.

I would trust the posters who have been on the board longest, as they are obviously not in anyones pocket.

Just my $.02 worth.

Hoffman BMW
Bloomfield, NJ

Service is great and they ALWAYS try to help with last minute stuff. I've sent 2 other people there (1 for an M5) and they have had the same positive experience.

Buddy, not trying to start a flame war but.......

Its a known FACT that HOFFMAN has thee worst reputation in the BMW car sales business, within the NJ & NY area. I guess you and your friend were lucky at best. There auto technicians are actually CHEVY mechanics that learned as they worked to service BMW cars. This dealerships main bread & butter is selling CHEVY vehicles, not BMW's. Would you guys want a CHEVY mechanic tinkering with your M5 machine??? I know the answer is a loud "HELL-NO" !!!!!
