Looks nice! It reminds me of the 959s that run the Paris-Dakar Rally.

That is one cool Rav 4 !!!!!!!!!!!

If you took off the badges, everyone would think it was a toyota or worse a susuki econo-POS. I can't believe people would spend that kinda money on something so average looking.

Impressive pictures, but what an ugly automobile.... Maybe one of those new Aztecs.

having just returned from the EU, I've got a chance to pick up a lot european auto mags which featured positive reviews for the Cayenne. While almost none fell in love with the styling, it was said (forgot which couple of mags exactly) that the Cayenne will de-throne the X5 as the performance SUV king. I believe the engineering aspect of this car alone will/ has already convince(d) lots of people. Certainly the company won't have a problem selling the 25,000 units allocated for the first year. So perhaps purists will also feel warmer towards the Cayenne as they read more about it. Time will certainly tell...

Mike, here's a little bit of vital statistics for the Turbo version:

        4511cc 32v V8 Turbo
        450bhp
        0-60 less than 5.6 seconds
max speed 165mph (don't know whether this is limited)

That sure is an ugly SUV. I just don't get today's car manufacturers. Do they poll potential customers prior to coming out with a new car.

An X5 is a far better overall package, in a nice looking body. I would love to hear how the Cayenne beats the Jeep Grand Cherokee as a better purchase?

Porsche should stick to what it does best.

Moreover, one should just buy the VW twin of the Cayenne for half the price. This marketing BS by car manufacturers is just going too far. The Cayenne is all about snob appeal.

I thought so too, but enough publications have now raved about the technical acomplishments of what Porsche has done to change my mind. In every single magazine, not too mention all the London papers, the Cayenne get an amazing review. Better than the x5 on the road and as good as the ranger rover off the road. Many of these were journalists who went in expecting not to like it.

I don't see how people could praise the x5 which is slower, not as good on the road, and nowhere near as good off.

"Porsche has not raised the bar for SUVs -- it has shattered it" was a quote that stuck in my mind. And not a single review so far has said the Cayenne was anything but the finest SUV out there. Pointless, they've said. But the finest nonetheless
