Bangle hits the big time- front page of today's New York Times

front page, below the fold of todays New York Times- Article is interesting reading, but has much fluff. They take BMWs numbers that 7 sales are up 45% with out any kind of analysis. They don’t even try to evaluate the fact that this is a new model compared to the last year of an outgoing model, or the fact that this doesn’t count cars that have been "returned".........

I just read the article and since I admire American architecture/design such as that of Frank Gehry, I am keen to see another different approach to design. I am a bit of anti-establishment myself.

I thought that the Fiat Multipla is really handsome. The 7er not so, but the Z4 is great. My reservation with the Z4 is it hasn't got the M3 engine as yet.

Unfortunately for BMW I haven't got any budget to get a Z4 any time soon.

to be perfectly honest...I love the new 7. It took a while to grow on me, but now when I look at it - I see a car of the future...an ultimate driving machine. To me all other cars in the same class the Merc S, the A8 etc. simply look fuddy-duddy and outdated.

regarding the seven design, I know it is personal is most things are, but to many a MOLE on the face grows on you with time so that it is not noticeable, but it doesn't make it any less of a MOLE.

The rear end of the seven is just too far gone. I-Drive has finally been seen as too much too soon. I believe there is an article in Newsweek magazine this week that LAUGHS at idrive because of its incredibly complex nature.

Had BMW been a bit more EVOLUTIONARY in both matters they would have had a better car. I-Drive in its next evolution will be closer to what it should have been in its first. simpler. Bring on the more complex after the world has an idea of what they have in mind with I-Drive and then expand on it. I agree with I-Drive but not in the way BMW brought it out - too much too soon.

Do we need to talk about why BMW has a label in the glovebox to alert VALET parking attendants how to START the car?
