I'm guessing that's the Road Atlanta shot, Spaz? The image isn't uploading.
My images are hosted on Hobbystage, so I can't imbed them here, but if you click on these links, you can see a few shots of my CB with black three-piece wheels.
I got the inspiration from 80's 911s with the Fuchs alloy 5-spokes with black centers. More recently, Sean on this board (aka D-Vader) had a beautiful set of HRE 547's with black anodized centers. I really like the sinister look, and it's not at all common.
I should note that these pix are pre-coilovers, so the Beast has a bit of an offroad look to her!

I am considering the same thing, but with CB centers instead of black. Did you consider that? What do you think?
Ray-
When I bought my wheels thru FAST4DR (thumbs up!), he told me that Kinesis had a set of painted black centers for a deal that fell thru. I was able to get them at the same cost as their standard matte pewter finish, so I grabbed 'em. (That is, same price with 4DR's hefty discount!)
If I were going from scratch, I would likely do the centers in CB. Another Atlanta Beast-owner, jonB, reminds me they should have been CB all along. Heck, I was on my way to painting the brake duct mod grille-splitter-thingy in flat black until he intervened!
One warning: the painted centers are prone to stone (or lug wrench) chips. Nothing that a little touch-up paint cannot fix, but about as durable as the OEM BMW finish. If I recall from reading Sean (D-Vader's) earlier posts, he had similar problems with an anodized finish. Perhaps powder coating would be more durable, but then CB would be out of the question.
For me, the benefit of its unique looks outweighs the relative costs.
