Images of 2003 DVD Nav system
I've taken a couple images of the 2003 DVD navigation system head unit. I'm still waiting for the actual DVD, as to replace the CD-ROM media, though...

Thanks for the pictures! Can you tell us what the material is around the DVD drive itself with the open cover? It looks like some sort of a fabric piece.
Any difference that you can discern in terms of graphical interface? Have you seen the older non-DVD navigation system in action before?

Seems like Gustav got fairly excited about the DVD unit - it is the little things isn't it??

VDO's new MS 5500 is the DVD version of the old MS 5000, the same system as the one in BMW's.
However, I saw some screen shots of the MS 5500 in the GErman Auto Motor und Sport magazine and it's VERY VERY different from BMW's DVD system, it's got heaps of new options and much improved features.
I'll try to scan the pages in the next couple of day and put them online.
