Question: Can any of you guys tell me, what does the DINAN S1 package consist of ?...

Hi Guys,
I went on DINAN's web site as suggested and boy oh boy, there are amny goddies for the M5 car but SUPER EXPENSIVE! Does this guy ever have a group discount sale of any type?
Also, I saw/read the Dinan S2 package and what it consists of, but there is no information that I saw/noticed for the Dinan S1 package. What does the S1 consist of, anyone know?
Thanks so much for your help.
Robert

I have the S1 package on mine which includes:

Dinan Stage 3 suspension
Dinan free-flow exhaust
Dinan cold air induction kit
Dinan front/rear strut tower brace
Dinan software upgrade

As far as I know, Dinan offers zero group buy opportunities.

ATOMIC80, Have question for you, regarding your reply......

Jason,
Thanks replying to my question. I was very surprised to read in your response, that the STAGE 3 suspension was included as partof the "S1 package". I know you what you said, but again, are you sure that the suspension is PART OF THE PACKAGE ?
Last, you stated that you have the "cold air induction kit".
As part of this package, did it come with the free flow exhaust or was this not included with the cold air induction package?
Thank you for your assistance with this matter. Much appreciated.
Robert

I noticed your location in your post and wanted to let you know (in case you didn't already) that there is a great Dinan shop in Wyckoff, NJ, called Motor Works West (www.motorworkswest.com). Dave Bogert is a great guy and is very familiar with the BMW/Dinan relationship. Give him a buzz or email and I am sure he can answer all of your questions.

Kevin, Thanks for the info.

Hi Kevin,
Yes, I do know about these guys, since they did some basic DINAN mods to my 2000 model 540i sport package car. Your right, Dave is a very nice man. Did you have anything done to your ride? If so, what was done? Im sure you researched the best and most cost effective mod by DINAN and Im trying to figure that out.
Its a shame that DINAN has to be "OVER THE TOP" with their prices. Only my opinion. Thank you.

If I had to pick ONE modification by Dinan then it will without doubt be the suspension kit.

I was under the impression that the suspension kit was part of the S1 package.

Hey Robert,
Wasted a lot of time and money tuning my S4 before I saw the light and bought an M5 that I told myself I didn't have to tune. Well, the tuning tickle became an itch and I had to satisfy my need by telling myself I'll just get the software, who knows when I might need to go 180? Now I find myself staring at the suspension and differential. No real need for either, I don't track the car and I am happy with the factory setting, but those are what I would do next. I have dealt with a lot of clowns tuning different cars, so if I was going to tune this car I would pay the premium and go with Dinan and Dave. I have them do an oil change for me every 5000 miles (15K seems a little too long for me) and it is very hard for me not to plop down the AmEx and say "What the F*$%, make it an S1!". The fact that the mods are so expensive actually acts as a nice deterrent for me. When I let logic rule I realize I would rather use those funds to purchase lapping and track days with Skip Barber in a Formula Dodge R/T 2000.

Mix and match for S1

FWIW, In order to get the (S1) Dinan badge, you need 10 points. The point system is on their web site. I believe you can mix and match whatever Dinan parts you want, and once you hit 10 points, you get the badge, at least that is how it worked for me. Not that I put the badge on the car, but I do have it.
