HelloGuys,
I've read several posts about larger headers being installed into the M5 car. Which aftermarket company has the BEST header product for the E39 M5 car? How much real power is gained by this addtion? Does anyone have any idea???

you would probably gain about 20-30hp with headers and software tuned to them.... Not really sure which company makes the best headers though for the M5... it's all subjective...

Terrance, thanks for the reply,but can you please tell me (if you know) who some of these companies are, that I can choose from. If you can tell me this, then I can do further reseach to determine who is best suited for my needs. Thanks so much!

Based on the amount of research and experimentation that went into them, I would be very surprised if anyone has done as good a job as Dinan. They developed the headers over MANY months and tried MANY versions. Given the work it takes to R&R each time, I bet some of the other solutions were "1st try". The vendors know that even if the customer isn't completely satisified the chances that they're going to R&R again to return the product are very slim indeed.

I'm with Greg on this one. Dinan has the best system, I think, on the market.

If you got there website www.dinanbmw.com you can see the claimed HP gains
I saw one this weekend and had the good fortune to drive it, It sounds SAAAAAAWEEEEEEEEEET! and there is definetly a noticable torque gain throughout the rpm range. He had the total exhaust treatment and a chip, no intake work.

I was under the impression that they made you buy some HUGE Dinan kit, much more than simply the headers?????

i read the dinan headers give 26hp without the throttle bodies. now i hear hamann gives 50hp and is compatible with the dinan stage 3 software. im still weary about trying. even though the hamann ones are 1300 cheaper.

just like to say that dinan go a little to expensive for what they offer.
hamann sounds good, also
g-power said it produces 5-10% hp increase depend on car type
nowack makes some, but i dont know how much hp they produce.

Dinan claims 26hp increase and Harmann says 50hp increase. I dought that there could be two different designs that would come up with that much of a difference. Am I off base here?
