Pong's M5 and Fred's new 996TT

Thanx Pong for giving me an opportunity to enjoy your awesome M5

I think Fred looks a bit like Chris Judd (J Lo's ex husband)

Very nice, agree with the Chris Judd comment!

Suwipiin, is yours a C2 or C4 S?

Does that 996 have the X50 package or is it just the Turbo with the body kit?

Today, Pin and I went on a lovely 100 mile jaunt along the Pacific Coast, and some inland twisties. He drove my M5 and I drove his 993 C4S. Here are some pics for you to enjoy.

http://www.imagestation.com/album/?id=4291167085

Pin's car has Bilstine coil-overs, and S03 tires. It eats my M5 for lunch in the twisties. The car corners like a laser-guided missile, with absolutely no body-roll whatever. It has tenacious cornering grip, and I felt much more confident taking corners at speed. It truely is a car made for turning.

The M5 has more low RPM grunt, a more serene cabin, and rides better in high speed. In 6th gear, I can feel the difference in oomph between the 2 cars.

Nevertheless, the C4S is fun, fun, fun in the twisties. I need to look into some Bilstine coil-overs for my M5 now.

Pin, thanks soooo much for the wonderful ride.

Hi guys,

Just finished washing my car as it was really dirty from a day at the track (yesterday) and a fun drive on the backroad with Pong today

KRM5, my car is a '97 C4S.

Pong, thanx again for letting me drive your M5. I was really impressed with the torque on your car. I can definitely use that kind of torque and power coming out of a corner

I deliberately tried the 4th and 5th gear on those twisties and even in those gears, I could still feel the ooomphh. Amazing...

I was also impressed with the handling of your car, Pong. Even in its stock suspension, the car handles really well in the twisties. Yes, the body roll was there due to the weight of the car but I took it as part of the fun.

When we were on Hwy 1, I was pleasantly surprised at how fast the M5 could still accelerate even when I was at a really high speed (which I don't want to disclose ).

Actually yesterday there was a black M5 with slicks and he was pretty fast too. I heard he has the stock suspension as well.

With that amount of power & torque, nice interior, and good handling, I personally think the M5 is the best sedan out there (well I guess you guys already know about this ). You guys are really blessed to have a car like this.

Regarding Fred's car (Fred, pls email me for the high-res pic.. I lost your email address ):

Fred has the X50 in his car and I think he told me that the car has 450hp. Other than that, he has the GT2 seats (very nice), roll bars (also very nice) and some body kit on it. His car is seriously fast

Yesterday we were at Laguna Seca for www.unlimitedlaps.com event and I got to see the acceleration of his car when we came out of turn 11. I pointed him by, lifted and his silver car just went zoom zoom zoom ....

Incredible car

Mike: yupe... that's my dream car, a 993 TT S

I've driven one (my friend's) and it truly is a beauty (& fast too).

But again, I don't think I have the guts to drive that car on the track though. It's too rare/expensive...
