I concur that the new BBS wheels looks unbeleivable. Unfortunately, I have not seen a picture of one on an actual car yet. Anyone have any pictures of the new RS GT on a car? I have a feeling we will see these wheels on a member cars fairly soon.
It's not listed on the BBS website, but if anyone whas last month's Roundel, the one with the red 2002 on the cover, there is a BBS advertisement on page 53. The RG-R is a one piece forged wheel in 17,18, and 19" diameters. There is also the RS-GT, the same design but in multipiece and with bolts. BOTH come in Diamond black finish.
Here are two pics of the RS-GT in regular silver finish.
RS-GT on the left, Racing GT2 right
Here is a pic of the wheel on a Toyota Aristo (NA equivalent of the Lexus GS series). Can't tell if that's the diamond black finish, but from the Roundel ad the DB finish looks a bit darker more similar to the chroime shadow finish of the OEM M5 rims.
On a E39 5 series:
Seems like this 5er is fitted with an SMGII transmission
that's all for now, will post better ones if I find them.
Nice job once again on finding pictures of these wheels . The diamond black really does look like the chrome shadow of the M5. Really changes the whole appearance of the wheel IMHO.
I believe so, that particular car is supposedly a 525i currently in Japan. I know there are many enthusiast owners over there willing to shell out lots of money for all kinds of modifications. There is a large MB fan base too and you should see some mods they have on those!
here's another pic of the SMG box fitted in the 525i:
