As many of you remember, my name is Matt, I ran Powerchip for a couple years and was very active on this forum while owning my own Le Mans blue M5. I quit powerchip in the summer of 2011 and took a step back from the industry. There's a lot of stress involved with the automotive aftermarket industry as it's full of the shadiest characters out there. Anyway, even though I've been quiet as far as forums go, I have not stopped tuning and have not stopped learning.
The purpose for this post is not to sell tunes to people, rather fix tunes or issues for people who I had sold tunes to in the past. Over the past two years people have gotten a hold of me that were customers of mine with various issues, smog concerns, or variations due to hardware upgrades. I have obliged and fixed their issues and have decided that I would provide FREE OF CHARGE support for anyone who I had sold a tune to before. I realize it may be late for some, but I was being threatened with law suits by my prior employer so I had little options and wanted to keep my involvement in tuning low key as to not cause waves. Enough time has passed and my business partner happens to be a lawyer, so I'm not actually worried about being threatened with frivolous law suits anymore
If you want to get ahold of me, email me at "jailbreaktuning@gmail.com" and follow some of my recent projects on youtube:
I'm trying to get some info as to how to order Powerchip for my e39 m5. Their website is no help and all the numbers under their contacts are invalid. Has this company gone bankrupt??
He told me to submit $890 through paypal and buy a cable from ebay for $20.
What's the story behind Powerchip? I'm trying to search but can't find any details. I just need to get rid of my stupid SES for low flow SAP.
I've searched hours and hours on this site trying to bypass the SAP but it just looks like the only way is to reprogram the ecu to alter the cold startup procedure. Now i don't mind this at all as there might be potential in harming the catalytic converter in the future. It's an M5 and I don't drive it everyday. But I hate staring at the SES.
If there is a way to reprogram the ecu to get rid of the SAP plus increasing the horsepower a little, I'm all for it.
If you're looking to get rid of the SES light and want a small bump in performance, I went with the Shark Injector for around $350. Haven't looked back.
Sooooo glad to see Matt back! Just sent an email, but I'll say he was stellar during and after employ at PC. He even helped me during the great cable drought, working with the cable guy (who wasn't being paid by Wayne, apparently) to lubricate the situation and get me a cable...months after he left there. He vouched for the cable dude, let me know what was up, and therefore I completely vouch for his integrity!
Seriously? You searched for Powerchip and couldn't find any results indicating what happened over the last couple of years???
You need to make sure you are in the "E39 M5 and E52 Z8 Discussion" forum then click on Search this Forum. You will get a lot of hits but dig in a little and you will see what is what. Unless your name is Wayne and you are trolling again. In which case, go **** yourself hmmm
I've entered Powerchip through the searches but all I see are people bashing on Wayne and Powerchip, just commenting "don't get Powerchip," rather than stating any kind of objective facts.
Wayne has been telling me that the mafless tunes have been causing some idle issues but they haven't been selling that in over a year now.
Again, I'll be on the net researching more about shark tunes, evolve, Powerchip and jail broken.
Bottom line is that I just need something to get rid of my SES light due to the sap.
Wayne has been emailing me back and forth (during his off business hours, him being in Australia and me in Atlanta) constantly. He has been extremely kind and generous as far as his prices, information and services. He addressed me with respect with every email.
Also Wayne offered to help me with my exact needs (turning off the SES light) rather than pushing the Powerchip onto me. He's even offering to send me ecu programming files even before I pay anything to ensure my satisfaction on the agreement that I pay after it's said and done.
I've read few nasty comments regarding Wayne and his company and I hope the differences have been met or at least settled for all intensive purposes.

It would be nice if now that Wayne Besanko has taken such an interest in M5board again since my return, if he would actually post something to better the community, or provide support for people he's sold to already, or even a dyno of some of his recent work.
You also have to realize that Matt (jailbreaktuning) was the US PowerChip tuner. Years ago, so many of us decided to get the PC tune based on Matt's work with the company. I still have my PC tune that Matt loaded, and am happy with it. I did not intend on altering the tune until I read about Matt's return and the possibility of squeezing more power safely.
All I am saying is that, back in time, Matt's work is what drive a lot of us to get the PC tune. He gave the board a group buy discount and the results were fairly good. Most were very happy. When things out of Matts control started to happen within PowerChip, Matt left and things started to crumble. It seems that he was the glue holding a lot of the company together as far as the e39 M5 community is concerned.
I did sell mine, it was in part to fund my new tuning hardware and software, ironically to serve the community, I had to get rid of my reason for being here. I'm somewhat still in the ballpark as I have an E46 M3 and an E36 M3, my lotus and my M5 however are long gone.
I'd like to get one again, but first I want to get my custom turbo setup going with the stock ECU on my E46 M3, until such time I will live vicariously through you all.
