Can you remove the Amber lens???

Anyone know if you can remove the Amber part of the front lens? That is the turn signal part up front?

        Just tossing the idea around.

I'm sure anything is possible, but theya re bonded to the outer shell, so you would probably end up destroying the lense removing the reflector. Not to mention you would not have any reflective properties once the amber part was removed.

on my2001 the amber lens is part of the light assembly and the only way to get clear turn signals, is to buy a new set of lights...

        Tim,

yep.. it's called "order the new Euro lights from Bekkers"... at $995.00 for the pair. If you look at my previous post on '01 facelift... you will see that my new ones are silver trim inside on the side of the turn signals. Looks much better than amber!!

Andy, is that just the lens or the entire headlight assembly? Us guys with the 2001s dont want to pay for duplicate headlights.

Francois, who was with us on the L.A. Santa Monica Mountain ride did this when he picked up his 2001 in Europe, and yes he did have to buy a new entire assembly .

        The clear sides look stunning.

In order to replace the orange part of the headlight assembly of by E39 Alpina B10 V8, it was nessesary to replace the entire unit which consists of the plastic cover with the two glass headlight lens' in place. For £245.00 I got BMW front, side and rear clear units from my local dealership. takes about one hour to fit all three.-- allso see 'fried egg' indicators under tips and tricks.
