New Beast Has Arrived
Well after a long wait my new Beast has arrived. Sorry the pics aren't atomic80 caliber but I didn't take them. I will post more later.
Initial impressions:
- Much firmer ride. I find myself trying to avoid road imperfections much more.
-Steering is much quicker and more precise.
-Not nearly as plush as the M5 but I guess it's not suppose to be.
-Radio is much better than the one in the 2000 996c2 I had.
-Feels quicker but it's hard to say because I am taking it easy during the breakin.
-I think the law of diminishing returns applies here. Not to say I am not glad I did it but the M5 is such an awesome car it's hard to say the 996tt is worth 50K more;but no regrets.
It's been raining really bad here in Houston but once I detail it I will post better pic.
Thanks, Bill
Not sure why pics aren't coming up?

Bill, after the crash Hobbystage has forbidden users to redirect pics in their server to other websites. Perhaps it would be better if you just post the link of the album that would be great. Thanks!

KRM5- Yes, the color is Seal Grey. The other cars in the transporter were; two 360 spiders, a third 360 that I couldn't tell if it was a Modena or spyder and a Masserati. Funny thing is the Ferrari's were all silver and so was the Masserati.

Bill:
The car looks fantastic, congratulations. I am really partial to the seal gray, very nice. Are those two holes in the front bumper PDC sensors or license plates holes? Let us know how you like the car after break-in. I am sure you will begin to find reasons why the car costs $50 more once the dry weather comes back and the car is broken in .

TCM- Those two white dots are little plugs that some of the dealerships place in the two holes drilled at the factory for the front license plate. I hate the way it looks with or without the plugs and I have ordered some seal grey colored bumper plugs so that hopefully it's not so noticable.
One thing that I have been already very impressed with is how well it accelerates and maintains traction even in heavy rain.

Congrats Bill!
Awesome car! I would ask for you to give me a little ride next time I'm in Houston, but that could do some serious damage to my financial planning!
I'll stick to "slumming it" in my M5. Luckily, I'm still in love with the car!
Chris

Congrats on your latest acquistion, bgomez! I met your friend at the last M5 DE that I went to...told me that he knew you.
It's nice to see that my pictures are held in such high regards even by folks like yourself. I'll have to come down there to take some pictures with Jet Black M5 in Van one of these days. You've got my favorite color for the 996TT too!
If you ever decide to sell her one day, give me a ringy-dingy.

Thanks for all the nice comments guys. I have been having fun driving the TT the last couple of days but I still miss the M5 very much and am still in awe of everything the M5 offers.
Jet Black M5 in Van: I tried to change my avatar to the 996tt but the board doesn't let me until I have 500 posts.
Atomic80: My friend that you met also traded in his M5 for a TT but fortunately he sold it to my brother-in-law so technically it's still in the family. If I ever get my "issues" resolved with the Mercedes dealership I will not be keeping the TT for long. I am #2 on a list for an sl55 but they are trying to charge me more than the agreed to MSRP.
Dallas Spikes: If you ever make it down I will let you take it for a spin and somehow I think you might find a way to work it into the "financial plan"
Wongster12: Thanks for posting the pictures!
Thanks, Bill
