Shift Kits Available from BMW dealers?
I live in Indy and the dealer here (Dreyer Reinbold) when asked if a shift kit was available for my 2000 M5, said they weren't familiar with one being available. They do have all of the current Dinan mods so it seemed rather strange that they haven't installed or offered anyones shifters? (He said "get me some info and I'll see what I can find"?) I know there is probably a lot of info on this board about the different kits available, also some that have been used already. What would y'all recommend I have him look for?
Thanks for your support!!

Go with UUC's kit. I have had one on my 540 and my M5 one is on its way to me this week. Mark has one in his M5.

AC Schnitzer's short shifter is excellent.

I do not know. Give UUC a call. Or just try it. It is not that hard to switch out. I was going to do that with mine but the dealer "forgot" to remove it before they sold my 540

SFBMW told me they would not install any short shifter unless is was manufactured by Dinan and Dinan does not manufacture them because they are prone to blow engines through missed gears. Yea right!
My question, has anyone else had the uuc or the ac short shifters installed by their dealers? Thanks.

I traded my 540's UUC "Street" (Not the Evo adjustable model) for the M5's stock.

Hank:
Lets put it this way. Find a dealer with some "balls". Sorry not to be crude but these guys are to into themselves. My "Dinan" dealer helped me install mine the first time. They charged me .5 hr to do it.
UUC for example provide DETAILED installation instructions.
Just my .02 worth
