        wierd telephone problem

while my wife is using the car phone last night, i glance over at the display screen. normally, while on the phone, i set it to dislpay the dial in the event i have to enter an extension or number of some kind. anyway, the screen suddenly looks different. it shows a graph which i have no time to look at, i just want my dial again. i fiddle for a second and the screen goes back to the menu. only now the words telephone and code instead of being white, are grey and each time i try to access either of them the cursor skips past them. both words, by the way are in the right hand column of the dislay screen.

the telephone works when its mobile.

last thing. this morning, when i fired up the engine, the display screen lit up and now the word telephone does not appear at all and code, in grey, is in the left hand column.

have i inadverdently disabled the phone system and if so, can anyone tell me how to enable it again?

        thanks,
        david e.

What phone model are you using? What version of the OBC software are you using?

There is a New Motorola Website with a lot of detailed information, including parts lists, troubleshooting guides, user manuals, etc.

        The user name and password:
        bmwna
        digital

This same thing happened to me twice, requiring the dealer to replace some part of the phone (CPT7000). I wish I could remember exactly what, but it was 18 months and under warranty so I didnt pay too much attention.

Anyone else have this problem or figure out the root cause? This just happened to me over the weekend and my service advisor is on vacation until next week. The other SA's at my dealer are practically worthless. Unless someone on this board is able to help me, my phone is out of commission until next week (at the earliest).

        BTW,
That Motorola web site is no longer active.
