        Post Viper Henessey 650?

I'm thinking about purchasing a Dodge Viper Henessey 650 as my weekend drive. Has anyone had any experience with a modified Viper? I met John Henessey and took a drive around the track a few times. The car was unbelievable

Suggest posting this question at www.viperclub.org. Many very informed folks regarding Hennessey and Vipers in general on this site. Also suggest looking into Lingenfelter as an alternative (www.lingenfelter.com).

A good alternative is to get a new, or nearly new Viper GTS. Good for 450hp and 490ft/lb. If you need more, drop on the mods that won't affect your warranty, like headers, exhaust, smooth intake. You will get 30-50hp with those. AND... you will be able to sell the car when you are done with it (especially in light of the new generation 2003 Viper). Where were you going to take the HMS Viper when it broke?

        My 2 cents, Dan.

Guy in our neighborhood has a blue/white GTS with exhuast (plus who knows what else), and a roll cage, fire extinguisher and three-points with submarine straps! And I would almost swear the guy has only modified it for trolling the local highways - not for organized racing!

He could always ship it to me on a truck, and I could pull it over there with my M5? hehe?

I live about 10 minutes away from John Hennessey's place in west Houston...
