How to connect stereo aux input to stock head unit

Since it looks 100% like I'm getting an M5 in the next 2 weeks I started doing some research on the DSP head unit.

I posted on another thread that I have a PC that I want to connect in to the NAV screen and also an aux input for being able to play MP3s.

I called Blitzsafe (www.blitzsafe.com) to see if they could do this. NAVtv can only do mono, which sucks for MP3s.

The Blitzsafe adapter needs to plug in where the factory CD changer does. You can have one or the other. Well I want both. They said I could toss the factory CD changer and get an Alpine M-bus CD changer (less than $200 for a 6-disc one).

It would operate the same way the factory one does but allow me to have an aux input.

From Blitzsafe you need a part "BMW/auxdmxv1d" and make sure they wire it for power ground accessory for the DSP.

Additionally get RadioShack part A/D Signal converter Part #15-1242 and a 50-ohm Coaxial cable from BMW. Cut off one end and connect an rca adapter. It then connects your DSP amp to the Radioshack unit. Radioshack unit connects to the Blitzsafe adapter.

Now I need to figure out if I can use this aux audio connection at the same time I use the NAVTV adapter so I can see the PC and hear the sound at the same time.

I'll keep everyone up-to-date on how this works out. If anyone has any experience with this let me know.

        Got it now!

Connect the video side of the DVD player (or PC in my case) to the backup camera. You'll have to run a switch and flip it so that the tuner thinks you are in reverse and switches to the DVD for video. That or you could drive in reverse.

I'm going to order the navtv tomorrow and the radioshack A/D converter and probably an Alpine 6-disc changer.
