CF Vorsteiner Hood Bangkok

The e39 community in Bangkok have been working hard to get a CF hood done and they have one complete and fitted to a car!

The hood is 100% CF and appears to not need pins, I'm hoping to check it out in person soon as the option to pick one up has become available to me. The cost will be 20 000 baht for the hood plus an extra 3000 Baht for painting whilst leaving the vents unpainted.

Fitment looks great in those photos. If you see the hood in person, take more, including photos of the underside of the hood and details of the vents.

20,000baht = $670 USD. Confirm that???

Yup, I just checked my conversation with the guy whose hood I'm taking.

They got 5 (i think) people to all pay a 8000 baht deposit which paid for the cost of the mold and getting the first hood done.

The total cost is definitely 20 000 Baht, but as i said it's 3000 baht more for paint

That's pennies compared to what the original Vorsteiner hood cost over here. I asked because it seems too good to be true. Like I said, keep us in the loop.

Aye, I've asked the guy who has the hood in the pictures if I can meet up with him. I'll take lots of photos and try to get more details.

Any questions you think I ought to ask??

hahaha, there are only 5 being made and all those are taken! i'll ask yatt car how much they would charge on a hood by hood basis.

as far as shipping is concerned... i'll ask, but have a strong feeling it's something that would have to be done by the person who wants the shipping.

If they are all taken, then this thread is a waste..... If the hood is of good quality and fit, the manufacturer would make a killing selling them on this forum. I'd buy one for sure......

shipping a hood in the CONUS is a pita...good luck shipping it over the pacific.

How heavy is it? I always wanted to visit Thailand, but not sure this can be deemed personal luggage though.
