That would be a '82 Plymouth Reliant, very used, got it for around $800. I then had a Toyota Tercel and a Geo Metro before fate smiled and I upgraded to the '00 M5

A few cars before, but they don't count since my parents paid for it. But this one was paid for by myself.

My first ever car I payed for myself was my vette and M5.

Before that I had hand me downs from parents. First car was a mustang convertible handed down from my dad. Was an '86 6 cylinder model not the wimpy 4's.

A cherry apple red 1967 Mustang Coupe with a 289 2-barrel (I wish it was the Hi-Po)V-8. The paint job was less than perfect and the 3 speed manual was really kind of ridiculous...but it was a pretty cool first car for an 18 year old.

My first car was a 1963 Dodge Dart GT convertible (very used). And I'll make a bold prediction: If you can get 100-150 responses to this question on the board, I'll bet you that 10 people had a Dart as their first!

PS: I have a 1963 Dodge Dart GT convertible in my garage today.

'76 BMW 3.0csi euro spec. Bought in '87 from an auto boutique after they dropped in interior appointments, a re-paint, suspension and 16" BBS.

Here's the fun part.. Turns out that the new underbody coating they sprayed over the old one was concealing rust. I found that out after doing what 16 year old kids do.. I dumped the clutch and ripped out the rear sub frame.

I then promptly bought an '88 325ic.

uh.. ok that's been a few years...

The first car I drove regularly was my father's 57 Ford F-350 p/u (what a BEAST! no pun intended ) Then I drove our family cruiser - 1964 Chevy Impala 4 door hardtop with 327 engine (large heads and Powerglide 2 speed auto tranny!!) man, this car rocked... for this time period at least.

The first car I actually OWNED was a 1979 Chevy Z28 - metallic brown, 350 engine, T-tops (don't laugh...as this was right after the Smoky and the Bandit craze!!), and Muncie 4 speed!
