          Post TMC

Apologies to the US comrades, but I suspect this is another place the Euro cars differ to the UK ones.

My 01 M5 comes supplied with a facility called TMC (Traffic Message Channel) which from the book suggests should work in conjunction with the nav system to highlight traffic problems. I have yet to see it work on my car - is it supposed to in the UK, or only on mainland Europe? The software is certainly there, but I don't appear to get any warning of traffic problems.

I am assuming that the Traffic Master is a totally separate piece of kit, which I believe is available in the UK with the complete comms pack. I didn't plump for this.

          Any help would be appreciated.

In Germany they do produce the signals... although I have never heard of it in the UK. Send a message to customer service on the international BMW site, and they can likely answer the coverage area.
