I've found the salesmen there to be particularly offensive and uninformed. On my last visit ( about six months ago ), A salesman told me that the 2000 M5 priced at $69,500 was probably "over $85,000 when new ". After that, the sales manager told me he would gladly order me a 4.6 - at 15K over list.

I had a very similar experience with this dealership on 2 occassions (I did give them a second chance several months after the first time) I would avoid this dealership. if youre buying a M car go to Manhattan or Westchester as they are owned by NA and not allowed to charge over msrp. doesnt mean they wont try with the "Ive got a slightly used one with 2 miles on it for 10k more" game. Let me know if you want a contact for Manhattan.

BMW of Bayside does not have a good reputation. Just do a search on this forum to find out what they did. Avoid them.

WOW..

I didn't know they have such a bad rep. Thanks for the heads-up everyone.

On that note, besides the Manhattan dealership, which one would you highly recommend in the NYC area? (NJ ok BTW)

all i can say is that
FRED GANG the manager of Bayside BMW is
offensive and down right prejudice!
And forget about the service dept, you have to wait at least a month to even get an appt.

I bought my M5 from Rallye Motors on Long Island - they were okay, not great not bad. To their credit, they did deliver the car when they said they would ( Nov, 2001 based on a July, 2001 order ) at MSRP.
