Thanks for the feedback on the Mrs(s). 330's. Our test drive was blown off today as the salesperson with the 330 changed their day off and the only other one in the showroom was blocked by a dead 740 that wouldn't take a jump. I think it's a beauty, though we will need a 330xi for the weather around here. The 4 wheel drive is the way I'm coaxing the Missus out of the Durango. Adds a few hundred pounds but what the heck. I'll let you know after the rescheduled drive on Thurs. Thanks. DaveG
Dave,

I owned a Durango, once, just once. The ride is horrible - it felt unstable and the rear would bounce like a truck. The 4wd is primitive (don't know details but that is what I've heard and I beleive it). Instead of a Durango you should take a look at the Acura MDX if you need 7 passenger seating in a mid-size SUV. Of course, if you are looking at the 330xi then you may want to consider the X5. You get a bit more utility, better road visibility and ground clearance, without sacrificing the driving experience.

Well, let us know how the test drive goes.

-Juan

Francois,

Smart move getting both caramel and black mats. Wish I had thought of that, keeping the caramel ones clean is a real pain.

Let's see...Blue was my first choice but I settled for Silver because it was available. So people will think I have "silver" car traits but really I'm a blue car person?

Juan- I agree that the Durango ride is "primitive", though I find the four wheel system to be very useful and an excellent performer when it comes to hills and snow. Its real four wheel, you know, hops around corners when dry out. But killer in the snow. I also like the new 5.2 V-8 in it. Lots of torque to get that big beast moving, though it runs out of steam when you wind it out. There's a Durango wioth a blower on it in Mopar Muscle Mag this month. I imagine you could light 'em up for a hundred yards with a blower on that thing.(Set to rear drive only)
I doubt that the Acura has the space of the Dodge which is darn big. Though I have seen the Acura and it is very attractive. Anyway, we have a jeep, will ditch the Dodge and we don't need a second Ute anymore. Our drive with the 330Xi got kabashed again today because wife and I were both too busy to keep the appointment. I'll let you know, though. Carry on. Dave G
