I stand corrected. It is a motor home, Winnebagoo type of deal.
I know there's a lot of holiday travellers on the road. This morning I saw a 24 foot Class A motor home towing a La Mans blue M5. Not on a flat bed trailer, but 4 wheels rolling, on the ground. hmmm hmmm
I know we have a manual transmission and we can put the gear in neutral, but I heard that even then, this kind of towing can damage the transmission.
I know this couple is travelling in style, but it pains me to see ANY m5 going 55 mph, stuck behind a motor home. grrrrrrr grrrrrrr
Just a minor point of clarification, I think you mean motorhome rather than mobile home. Mobile homes are the trailers that we all hope the economy never forces us to have to live in.
I agree with your sentiments! Seeing that going down the road would be like fingernails to the chalkboard! Buy a real trailer!
Perhaps the M5 is like the booster rocket on a space shuttle. It is bolted on to give it a little extra juice on those mountain roads. Once you use up the fuel, it all gets jettisoned. If that is the case, I am right behind to pick up the salvage.
Yeah, most people flat-tow Saturns because the trans pump is on the drive side of the gearbox and it won't be damaged but it's interesting to see someone who really wants all the comforts of home (including the garage) while on the road...
Let me get this straight, you have the trailers on your M5 because you need the extra space for flat tires?
