Time to say farewell

Well it's time to say farewell to my Beast. It has been 10 months and 8000 miles of pleasure but I need to make room for my 996tt set to arrive in about six weeks. I wish I could keep them both but it is just not possible. Not being sure what the market would be like, I decided to start trying to sell it 1 week ago and I already have a serious buyer. My car has 8000 miles, MY02, every option, stock, silver/silverstone. It is in PERFECT condition. This buyer is offering me 67,500. and I am not sure if given current market conditions this is a fair price. Could you guys please give me your opinion. Thanks in advance,

Bill

Sorry to see you go! Hopefully you'll post stories about you 996tt.I think $67500 is a respectable offer, but $69500 is what that car should bring!Good luck with your new aquisition. Please post pics

I would agree with Manny, that's a bit low, especially if the car is perfect. JMO. Kevin

It is abit on the low side but if you want to get out of it fast, I think you should just take it. IMO, it is just a 2k diff. and finding another buyer who will pay 69.5k will take, god knows how long, and ur TT is arriving in 6 weeks.

If I were you, I'll just sell it maybe for 68.5 k to that guy and get it done with

my 2 cents,
Sugi

Bill,

Now you're getting a 996 tt, are you still getting the SL55? That would be a stable to die for.

BTW Pong:

Did you ever mention to me why ur getting the SL 55 rather than the 911 TT? Was it b/c the 911TT is not an everyday driver etc?

I agree...take it. Being borderline on what I would do, I would rather spend 75 and get it brand new than save 5k to get a car that someone else drove for 8k miles, no matter HOW much you can say you babied it or how clean it is. A 7k difference makes it reasonable. And remember cars are going for NO MORE than MSRP, not the market there used to be.

Sugi,

My considerations are as follows:

For Mercedes:
Interior Comfort.
Looks.
Electric Hard-top.
Car size (wife equates this to safety).
Performance. (equal or better than tt)
Maintenance. (heard 911s are finicky cars)
Stealth. (911tt attracts racers and CHPs)

For Porsche:
Manual transmission (not a big deal for me as I have the M5).

Hope that answers you question.

WOW!

I can't believe how many of us are getting 996TTs!! Good luck with the new Beast. IMHO, take the $ and run.
