Multiple warmup misfire issue - drivability problem

Yesterday morning as I am pulling out of the garage, I feel a bit of hesitation pulling away from the house. Thought this was strange as I have never felt this before.

On the way to work, I feel a couple moments of hesitation when giving it the gas to accelerate when on the highway. Nothing too bad, but noticed it. Pulled the codes on the Peake reader in the work parking lot and got the below, nothing too worrisome.

18-OE-(tank small leak)-8F-(Ebox fan)-CF-(warmup misfire cyl 3)-D1-(warmup misfire cyl 5)--D2-(warmup misfire cyl 6)--D5-(warmup misfire multiple cyl.)

On the way home, thought I might have felt it again, but not worried about it at this point.

This morning I was driving to the highway, and could feel some misfires, but not that bad. Pulled the codes in the work parking lot again, nothing.

On the way home on the highway, the hesitation is getting worse. If I give it the gas pretty hard, it hesitates a couple of times before accelerating. Just before getting off the highway, full on misfire, car is running horribly, luckily I am near my exit, SES light comes on. I pull over pull the codes and get 18-D8, Precat O2 sensor slow switching Cyl. 1-4.

Start car, still misfiring, get home pull codes again, get 18-CF-D1-D2-D5-D4. WTF, getting warmup misfire codes when it is fully warm?

Car had the following replaced at 50K that seems relevant. Car now has 92K on it.

Pre cat o2's; spark plugs: fuel filter.

Could this be plugs, coils, or O2 sensors?

I'm searching the board now, but hoping for some more info in the meantime.

I'd vote fuel pump, then e-box. The misfires are happening on both banks and they aren't bad enough to switch on the check engine light. Having 2 coils and 2 plugs go at the same time is rare, plus they haven't gone bad enough to throw the light.

I am having the similar issues: multiple/random misfires during warm up. Usually two or three cylinders at a time and only five of the eight cylinders seem affected. Problem is they really are random so it is hard to know where to go. I don't feel any hesitation or misfires when warm and none of the codes reappear until the next subsequent cold restart.

I am thinking coils at this point but will definitely be replacing the plugs when I get back.

Thanks Rob. Actually the SES light did light up on the way home this evening, and it was running really rough.

The Ebox fan code has come up a couple of times in the 3 years I've owned the car, I wouldn't think that that would trigger these problems, correct?

My hunch is bad tank of gas, followed by outgoing fuel pump. Clogged injectors is a possibility but rare.

Since someone's bound to ask, I may as well: how are your MAFS?

I did fill up yesterday morning, but that was after the misfires had started in the morning on the way to the station. I use that gas pretty regularly, 93 octane.

MAF's are from Timmay, have probably 60K on them. I am currently running the Powerchip tune that is both MAF-less and MAF-able, with the MAF's plugged in. I unplugged the MAF's and started it up a bit ago, and it is still misfiring. I have my original MAF's that I could test with if that helps. They have around 70K on them.

To add, I did notice that if I cruised at part throttle, the misfiring would stop and the car seemed to run somewhat normal. However this changed quickly as soon as I stepped on the gas.

No SES lights for me. Only a rough idle for about 19-23 seconds after a stone-cold start. No other symptoms. I have the Evolve alpha-n tune and it has been completely flawless. Nothing makes me suspect it now. Car runs REALLY strong.

Sorry for hijacking your thread, Brian. I will watch it closely for my own clues
