Prefacelift replacement headlight lenses > post facelift lenses without angel eyes

I know this is one of those trivial type details. But to me it makes a big difference aesthetically. I REALLY like the look of the pre-facelift lights. Go ahead, flame all you want, but there is a certain degree of aggressiveness and clean retro style that the '00 pre-facelift lights have that the later model halo's can't duplicate.

That being said, I've already upgraded my lenses to replicate the "euro" look with clear corners:

While I love the no-amber look, I've seen a few '00 model M5's with the facelifted headlight lense only, without upgraded angel eyes: See attached(not my car)

This is the look that, IMO, gives the best of both worlds. I like the newer looking round turn signal that is incorporated into the headlight assembly while keeping the pre-facelift headlights. I've searched everywhere and can't find them. Someone here HAS to have a source for them? TIA!

I like the turn signal and facelifted lens on the old internals pretty well. I do like the Angel Eye setup better though.!

Nice car BTW

I also love the pre-facelift headlights and am looking for a pair right now to do some work on. So what you want is an assembly with Fresnel lenses and round turn signals. Hmmm, interesting. I think I have seen such an animal somewhere . . . Definitely not OE or even OEM.

That makes the factory headlights look really good. It would have been nice to retrofit the stock projectors with some FX-R lenses to get the most out of them, while retaining a fresh factory look. Did you get new outer lenses too or just replace the clears inside? They look brand new.

I love my DJAutos but I'm going to have get some pre-facelift headlights now. Might see about an FX-R or at least a post-facelift projector lens retrofit.

The pre-facelift headlights are SUPER easy to take apart, by the way. The lens is held on by clips alone; NO adhesive at all!

Maybe I'm looking for a unicorn here with my request. That's ok, I really like the look of the clear corners, just feel the post-facelift corner markers look better. Anyway, I got new outer lenses only. Super affordable, really cleans up the front of the car rather than trying to polish the 13 year old plastic. They're not oem, but after 2 years, no leaks, no discolorization and you get the added benefit of clear corners

This is a long shot, but any idea if the OE pre-facelifted headlights can be melted open?
