sun visors - slightly loose?

hey guys,

I have a problem. I am a perfectionist. I noticed that the sun visors in my E39 M5 are slightly loose. they don't "wackle" or anything but I wish they were firmer. on the new cars, the visors sit right up against the roof. is there a way to fix them or do I need new ones? they cost almost 100 euro each!

thanks

please, this is driving me crazy. has this been discussed before? is there a solution to tighten up the sun visors?

I know a few guys with E39's and they all have this issue. this must have been a subject for a good discussion at some point

no pics, but its simple, the visors sag a little, lets say 1/4 - 3/8 from the roof. when you drive over a bumpy road and look closely, you will see them wobble around. it is not very visible as the roof liner is black (and the visors) but once you know about it, it drives you crazy. well, it makes me crazy. My friends say I am crazy. Maybe, I know I am a perfectionist

Mine are exactly the same! When i first bought the car 3 months ago this is one of the first things i noticed because im a perfectionist too! I did think it was not nomal but hey i managed to live with it. It will be nice from owners to confirm this situation though. Is this how they are from factory?

I even considered buying new ones at 100 euro a side but I would like to know 1st if this is even worth it and if perhaps there is a solution to fix the existing ones

Another solution would be to get a small set of sticky side velcros and put a small piece on each corner to hold them in place..It works fine and is virtually invisible.

Haha, I also cringed at the fact of that. Even though no one would ever notice and it would probably fix the problem, it would bother me as it seems like a band-aid solution for a factory part that's not working as intended.
