Hey guys i've been a lurker for some time here and i just picked up a '02 M5 this weekend (Bone Stock) and i must say im in LOVEEEE with the car, the last E39 that i owned was a 98 540 that was 6 years ago, after that i kept bouncing between Audi and Merc, and finally decided to get back into a bimmer and the M5 was the best choice without a doubt, i cant wit for the modding to start

my old 540

Very nice ride. Its always interesting to hear about people who leave to have their go with Audi & Benz only to return to BMW for a number of reasons. Happy modding!

Hey man, what's with the hood on the 540 cutting across the headlights toward the grills? It looks so mean!

Welcome to the club!

Gotta love the E39's in shinny jet black, but I bet they are a PAIN to keep looking good. Silver is so much easier, can't even notice when it's a little dusty

When you look at a Boser Hood, REALLY look at it. I used to sort of like them, but when you really stare and get an overall perspective of the lines against the entire front of the car, you may start to notice that the curve towards the kidneys creates a large about of material that looks strange, and that the kidneys start to look larger than they are, and they look very vertical and out of place. Like placing squares next to circles and having them flow together. To me, some angles look great, then from another angle they look horrid.

I was considering getting it done on mine a few years back, but decided against it after really looking at it from many angles.

Not for everyone, especially me, but if you do like it, get it done.

Just thought I would share as I was one who really liked it at first, but later was very glad I did not go through with it.
