Hate that orange plastic !!!

I've searched all over the boards and cannot find anything related to this apart from that I would have to buy euro style headlights= very expensive

Anyone have any idea on how to eliminate this orange plastic inside the headlight without doing any damage ?

What year is your car? Are they the original headlights?

It replaces the entire clear front cover including the amber corner marker. Basically you get a brand new lens for your headlights and your amber corner reflectors get converted into the clear euro looking ones. However, if you have a later 2003 model year M5 you cannot utilize these parts as BMW changed the adhesive they used to hold the lights together. To see if your lights can be modified, open your hood and look at the tops of the lights you'll see either a circular clear 'cap' looking thing or a black one. If you have the clear cap, you're most likely good to heat up the lights and remove and replace the lenses. If you have the black caps, more chances than none, you cannot do anything with those lights as they have the newer adhesive which cannot be heated to soften. Also, I am fairly certain these covers delete the little light in the corner reflector as well.

Can anyone here comment on the quality of these Schmiedmann covers? Do they fit as well as the originals? Thanks...
