Almost certianly won't work with DSP in the E39. It will also require a great deal of rewiring for Navigation equiped cars, as the radio is in the boot.
Your garage states an E60, in which case, as this radio is CAN the E60s are MOST it won't work.

Ok forget that garbage. Here's the situation, I just got my e39 (1/03 build) w/ MKIV. I want to add Sirius Bluetooth and iPod.
I would also like to be able to play video from the iPod as well. I would appreciate it if someone who has done this can help me out with the route I should take. I know there are a bunch of threads about this, but I have been endlessly searching this site and my brain is numb.

I would also like to keep the factory look of the mkiv, and I have done several system upgrades on previous cars so I am willing to do whatever is necessary

Hi-

Welcome to the M5 board. You should post some pictures of your car and introduce yourself if you haven't already.

You probably got off on a rough start with the random aftermarket radio link--sorry!

As long as you have MKIV, you can add a sirius module-there was a thread on this not to long ago--something along the lines of "sirius modules now available" with a link to part numbers.

You can also add a aux input for Ipod to the MKIV.

Adding bluetooth is more involved, but again there is great resources on here that lead you through using a ULF or TCU, along with a BT antenna, etc. I believe build dates after 9/2 have most of the guts in them already to make it easier.

Or, you can always just go the DICE Mediabridge route and get an all-in one. It is "close" to OEM and uses the CD changer input as a work around, so it takes a bit to get used to.

Good luck!

A complete inventory of your existing infotainment system with pictures will be helpful in creating a working project list.

Bluetooth will most likely be the most expensive part of the venture as it does require coding. Everything else can be done in your garage with basic tools.

As to the Sirius thread SASM5 mentioned here's a link. (New OEM Sirius module now available)

If you want the AUX input; here is a link for my DIY for adding the facility to a pre-9/01 (Retro-Fit Auxiliary Audio Input Harness)

Cheers.
