Cat removal+muffler delete=?

Hey guys, just wondering if anyone here has taken out the cats and done the muffler delete. I know that if if take out the resonator the car will drone like crazy, but what happens volume wise if I remove the cats and leave the resonator in? Will there be any kind of power increase as well?

Thanks, I did a quick search and didn't see anything, but I'm sure someone on here has done this setup before....

it depends, if cats are OK you will get maximum 1-2% of power but if they are clogged (and most of them are more or less) you will see noticeable difference

I plan to do this same modification (cat+muffler delete) in a week or so and I will tell you my impression, if you already do muffler delete cats probably won't make big difference(at least its such on some other V8 cars).

Okay Im 99% sure you will not like this. I have had many exhaust combos.

1. SS headers+OEM cats+Rouge x-pipe with resonators+ Essiemann race= Sounds awesome. May be a tad loud for some.

2. SS headers+OEM cats+Rouge x-pipe with resonators+ SS Magunums=A bit louder than stock but sounds pretty good.

3. SS headers+OEM cats+Stock resonator+ No mufflers= Sound really nice. Hands down the best bang for the buck. About as loud as no.1 but sounds very different.

4. SS headers+No Cats+Rouge x-pipe with resonators+ Essiemann= Also sound awesome but way too loud esspesially at 80mph.

5. SS headers+No Cats+Rouge x-pipe with resonators+ SS Magunums=Just a bit quieter than with the Essiemanns also loud on the hwy at 80mph.

6. SS headers+No Cats+Rouge x-pipe with resonators+ Stock cans= Just a bit louder than stock but much deeper sounding. Very good comprimise for me. LOVE IT! (My current set-up)

Conlusion is removal of the cats makes things much louder, esspesially on the hwy. Do one or the other. Cat delete or muffler delete.

Can you please define "Rouge x-pipe with resonators"?

Is that a Rouge x-pipe with a built in aftermarket resonator, or is that a Rouge x-pipe with the STOCK resonators still in the system?

Thanks!

Tim

Hey Tim.

Rogue offers a x-pipe without and with small resonators built into them.
I will take pic later this week. Otherwise google who sells Rogue and it should show a pic.

Rogue x-pipe with "their" resonators. I did not alter the Rogue pipe at all.
