abs dsc module-lets join forces
Hi all, how many folks have had the abs dsc module fail prematurely? I firmly believe that this part should not fail as often as it does, I cannot understand why nobody has began a drive to let BMWNA how we feel about this. I propose we all send BMWNA an e-mail letting them know we are not at all satisfied with the module's prematurely failing and demand some sort of good will repair offer. I have already sent my e-mail, I will post their reply as soon as I hear from them. United we can make a difference! Who is with me?

They don't fail too often, but they do fail. 10 -13 year old cars got to expect something is going to break. I take it your unit has failed? How do you know it is the unit? Have not seen you in a diag thread on the module.

10 years and/or 100,000 miles.
That's the 'effective lifetime' of your M5 mate.
Unfortunately.
My car is 13 years old and the ABS/DSC needed a rebuild in its 12th year....£170 and all good again.

LOL. I also suspect that BMWNA is not particularly concerned with complaints from us 2nd, 3rd, and 4th owners of 10 year old cars. In their minds, we are not really a customer base they are afraid to lose.

A sad, but understood reality. They've already made most of their money. Dealerships can milk some maintenance profit, but BMWNA really doesn't see much of that in reality.

I suppose you guys are right, I just think 3500 bucks at the dealer is a little too steep for that stinkin module. I sent it in for repairs but they couldnt fix it.

How about a used one? Never heard tell of one not being repairable.

No it was not BBA, it was another outfit here in the states, I dont recall the company but it wasn't master either. I wonder if BBA can fix it now that it has been opened and resealed. I did come out a little ahead because before I would loose my speedo, and would get the brake and dsc lights. and now I still get the lights but I dont loose my speedometer. I have also already done the wheel sensor check.
