Will my M5 fit in a storage unit?

Kind of an odd question.

My family is relocating, however i will be staying up north for school but will be working out of state anywhere from 1 week to 1 month. While gone i no longer have a secure place to put my car and need to get a storage unit for some of my extra stuff i have left at my parents house. With that being said i have looked at a 10X15' storage unit that im hoping my e39 M5 will fit in. According to everything i can find online the length is exactly 15'. Im not with my M5 right now (i know, sad) but im wondering if anyone can confirm the bumper to bumper length of an e39?

any help would be greatly appreciated.

Dimensions are in your owners manual

I think the owner's manual is probably iin the car which is not with the OP, otherwise he would probably use a tape measure to answer his own question

I think 15' is too short, but I am too lazy to take out the tape measure in the dark but here is a diagram:

I went out in my garage and measured for you. 15 ft is indeed not enough room for you. The car is about 16' long.

I have a car in a 10x20 and have parked the M5 in there for a day and it fit no problems. Find the right storage facility and you should be able to store for a decent price. Take advantage of new user incentives.

Thank you, this is what i was looking for.

The difference between a 10x15 and a 10x20 is quite significant however i guess i can justify it by putting my motorcycle in it now Thanks guys!

It will fit in my garage with no problem, and I won't charge you much rent. Heck, we can probably slip the motorcycle in there too, if it's a nice one!

I used to store my E28 M5 in a 20' storage unit. You want to have some extra room in front and behind so that you don't risk damaging the bumpers.

All the BMWs now sold. Now back in a Porsche. There is no substitute.

I agree with others..10 x 20 will definitely give you some 'wiggle' room. I too thought that the 10 x 15 would do the trick for me when I stored my car last year however the M5 is a little too beefy for that space .
