What is this TiAg you all speak of?

Just thought I would share my personal newb moment. I've been a part of this forum and an M5 driver for about 5 years (BMW for 15) and every once in a while I see a reference to TiAg. I would always ignore it off and move on, until recently. Now that I have been considering a few mods, this TiAg has been intriguing. What mod is "TiAg"? What does it do? How much does it cost? Is it a special edition M5?

A quick google search for me to find out that it's short for Titanium Silver. Ha.

Well boys, I got a TiAg M5 too!

Thought I would share my newb moment for all the others (hopefully there are others) that have no idea what it stands for.

TiAg = Titanium (Ti) and Silver (Ag) [periodic table of elements]

It's the color that goes by the same name.

Yeah, I read that on my Google search. It only seems obvious after the fact.

Kudos to you for admitting. Titanium is the ultimate compromise color -- no one hates silver. That's why so many dealers order it. I'm really happy to have two M cars, neither of which are silver, black or gray.

That said, Titanium is nice as silvers go and stays looking clean a real long time. I grew to like it more when I had my 530/sport/5.

Don;t feel bad, at least you figured it out!

I still see some people say "TiSi"....(Titanium Silicone???) and have a laugh.

Although "Silver" seems like a very basic and uncomplicated color, I have often parked my car next to my coworker's C55 AMG in Mercedes Version of silver.

I am always surprised by how different BMW TiAg really is and to me it looks a lot better. Mercedes Silvers are a bit to shiny/silver for my taste.

The E39 has some of the cleanest lines of any 4 door saloon ever built, and the BMW TiAg does a wonderful job (in correct lighting) in showing those gloriously understated lines.
