And she asks why I prefer to park far away from everyone in the parking lot...

My girlfriend and I were out wine tasting in the Napa valley yesterday and upon returning to the car, I find the below situation. My greatest fear realized every time I'm forced to park in a lot that is nearly full. I assume I'm not the only one that prefers to isolate their m5 out in no-mans-land when parking. The good news is she is now less likely to complain about me parking further away in the future...

Hope you took a picture of the plate and left a note for the driver! He's way over his line and in your spot!

Oh, and man, I am sorry that happened Sucks

Yes, I park far away too. A little walking is never bad.

People really piss me off. I used to park miles from anywhere, but for some reason people then come and seek you out. I've been to a 24 hour store at 3am on a Thursday before (not exactly peak hours), and after 5 minutes in the store I come out to find someone has parked RIGHT next to me with NO space at all. There's literally 500, 600 spaces in that place? GO SOMEWHERE ELSE DAMMIT! Hope your car had no marks though, normally if they've moved straight on into you it's not so bad.

Yeah, I have a picture of the plate and left a note. I haven't heard anything yet though... Nice scuff on the bumper but no crack. Not enough for me to file my own claim. I'm really hoping I can polish it out if this guy / girl doesn't take responsibility.

Yeah, hope they make it right.

Agreed about parking. These cars are magnetic, like a chick in a bikini or something, these cars especially when clean.

I think some people do this to be a-holes. And they're right...it makes them a-holes. Personally I try to look for an end spot...not necessarily the furthest spot. An end spot that is flanked on one side by like a concrete barrier where there's a tree and some plants or something. Then I squeeze my passenger side up against that so that I can make my own wider buffer with the spot to my left. This seems to be less magnetic then the bum-f Egypt solitary parking job.

I also do that, but then people were hugging me and practically in my spot. so I will try to find an end spot, preferably on the right side of the adjacent car (less likely to have passenger than driver), and then squeeze the curb with my right front and leave the rear centered in the spot. Yes, I have a sickness. If that is unavailable, it is BFE with no second thoughts.

Yup, this is exactly what I do when parking, look for the end spot, or a spot where only one person can park next to you.

I just park as close as I can to the curb (of course w/out curb rashing my tire and wheel), and that usually leaves plenty of space for my +1 to get in and out of the car.

I also evaluate the cars that I'm going to have to park next to. Is it clean? Does it look to be well maintained? Will that driver be just as upset as me if they get a ding on their car? Dirty mini-van covered in scratches? No thanks, I'll take a long walk instead, even if it is an end spot.
