Welcome!

Glad to see another member daily drive their beast! I have a 2002 and love every minute I spend in the car. Like the rest of the members said, the mod bug will soon hit!

Stupid to buy an AMG and not drive it, it's like paying a hooker for a hug.

Would you happen to live on Oxford Rd? If so, I'm your neighbor 5 houses down. I see your car everyday. I moved into the neighborhood last month. I use to own a 2002 M5 and recently turned in a leased 2010 M5. I now drive an e36 M3 sedan until I find another M5. I have the peake scan tool if you ever need to borrow it.

Welcome! There are about 5 of us E39 M5 guys on the forums that are from MN, hope to see you around at one of the meets or C&C!

PS...dont worry so much about your car (ie, I have 128000 on my car with 40000 of those miles my own, and I run redline (6500-6800 RPMs) pretty much daily with ZERO issues ), they are built like tanks, and there are enough people around MN if something does go wrong, you could have help if you ask

Covers blown! I think I saw you drive by with a 2010+ mustang yesterday.

Good to hear! I was actually at C&C this past week! Parked down at the very end of the main drag beyond all Ferraris and porsches. Was next to an e36 M3 in a blue shade. Also good to hear about reliability, I'm hoping to put some serious miles on this car. (Only downside is the $65 a week it's eating in gas!) What's your take on the infamous rod bearings issue and fan clutch? Have you done anything preventative or just deal with things as they happen?

Yeah, that was me. Just picked up a brand new 2013 Mustang GT last night.

If you're looking for exhaust recommendations, you may want to consider Supersprint. I had that installed on my 02 M5. Gave it a nice low rumble but yet civilized and not too loud.
