295/35-18 on rear anyone?

Can i fit that size on a stock wheel? Stock suspension too. A buddy is selling 2 tires with excellent life for $125 but they are 295s. Is that too wide for the 9.5" wheel or is it ok? I need to change mine because they are 255s and thats what the wheels came with.
Please help me with this one guys.. Anyone has fit 295s?

I've had them on 10" wheels with occasional rubbing. May be too wide for a stock wheel though.

295/35/18 on 9.5" wide rim might but pushing it, I had 295/30/19 on 19x10.5 and it was already bulging out...not to mention I was rubbing like mad given my ride height.

According to Tire Rack, the minimum wheel width for nearly all 295 tires is 10", with a recommended width of 10.5". Even if you got it to fit, I would be really concerned about it separating during hard cornering. Not worth the risk IMHO.

im running 285 slicks on mine which someone mentioned they are the equivalent of 305 wide road tyres and they are great, so much grip, you might need to run a 5mm spacer like i did, so put the cost of that and 10 30mm wheelbolts into the equation

That will be too tall as well. I ran 295 on my 10" wheel on the supra no problem.

I was told by the race shop that mounted my rears that I might be able to fit 295's, I wonder how much taller they are than the 275's? I've seen someone do the calculation before just can't remember it off the top of my head.

Well, multiplying the width by the % (height) will give you the measurement of the sidewall in mm. So 275s x 35% = 96.25 and 295s x35% = 103.25 that means that a 295 tire has a sidewall thats 7cm taller than the 275s
