I have four, 13,6,4,2. I have always used towels because you just toss them in the wash, you will soon understand. As stated previously its not the seats that will be your problem, its the rest of the car. Better start practicing this, "its just a car". The kids will love going fast especially wither the cans cut off, but what really makes me feel good is how they talk to each other in the back about what is safe and what is not. Teach them early and leave the wife home. Congrats

Cheers and congrats!

That's exactly what I did. holds it nice and secure. Had some buddies in the back and had to remove the seat and boy was that strap mangled. Still, even with 2 grown adults in the back there's plenty of room for growth in our 5 month old!

Yoga Mat

I use a yoga mat folded in half so it doesn't leave the imprint in the leather, and so far so good. There are really thick workout-mats also, I was thinking about picking up, ..they are about double or triple that of a yoga mat.

The blue yoga mat is barely visible in this terrible pic. I also wedge the middle seat in with the front passenger seat just to keep the middle seat from sliding around , except when wifey is in the backseat.

I would also recommend something to cover the back of the driver's and/or passenger's seat so when they are forward facing their shoes won't mess up the seat backs.

So I am learning hahaha

Do our cars have the metal hoops to click in the child seat bases? Or are we to use the middle seat belt to tighten down a single, rear facing seat?

Mine has the metal ISOFIX hoops, but I think only the latest cars had them, maybe September 2002 on?

The 2001 M5 owners manual does not mention the "LATCH child-restraint anchorages points", the 2002 and 2003 M5 owners manual does describe them, but they are denoted with a * which indicates that they are optional or country specific extras. So, I'd guess 2002 model year (September 2001) on cars might have them, depending on country or specified options.

Has anyone found documentation stating the weight limits of LATCH in our car? My owner's manual doesn't call it out, so the child seat manufacturer says to assume 40lbs.
