A few track photos - four wheels and two

Did a couple laps at The Ridge Motorsports Park in Shelton, WA yesterday for a Ducati track day. These were just early auto laps before the two wheel sessions got going. All photos courtesy of our very own Atomic80 (Jason Tang)

And a few on two wheels below. My bike is the Hypermotard, also got a chance to ride an 848Evo and an 848 Streetfighter.

My HYM:

Me on the 848 and a friend riding my Hypermotard:

Nice photos, any video? Very clean looking track, some trees are a bit close to the run-off area.

First one I've had time to edit so far - It's my buddy riding my Hyper and I am on track on the 848. Cameron is a much faster rider than I am, (I'm actually quite slow) but he slowed up for me and I go by him around the 8:20 mark on the main straight. My hyper can get up to 130 on the straight - the 848 and bigger bikes can easily break 160mph. He gets me in the corners with ease. I have another forward facing video from my bike that I'll try to edit and upload tonight.

Also about the trees - they look closer than they are to be honest. A lot of people who see videos/photos of the track comment on this, but when you are there you see that they are really no risk. The corner huts look close as well but it really is a very safe track. Quite tricky on a bike as there are a number of blind corner entries with substantial elevation changes. It flows nicely. It's a beautiful setting and there's still a lot of work to be done at the facility. From what I understand they are still set to lay a final layer of tarmac on the main circuit. Eventually they will have full pit amenities with garages and storage options, and a full 1/4mile drag strip.

+ YouTube Video

Just "auto-laps" for people to familiarize with the track. What you don't see are the three F-350 pickup trucks going around with 10+ people in the bed - that's where Jason was snapping the pics from. I'm well acquainted with the race day organizers so they don't mind that I do a few laps in my car just for fun before the day starts.

I'm so jelly. I gave up my Triumph Daytona to get an M5 (still looking for one), you've got the best of both worlds! Savage set wheels you got there.
