My New Beast

Just picked up my beast over the weekend. My supercharged 330ci was a total loss a couple weeks ago so I went this route. Really enjoying the car sop far and look forward to what I can learn from others here. I was previously on E46fanatics and got a wealth of knowledge there. Now its time to learn the E39 platform. Well here is the Beast. 2001 Carbon Black on Caramel executive edition with Dinan S package. 68,000 miles .

On a side note. I had a set of BBS Impuls custom drilled and bored to fit my E46 and didn't even have a chance to mount them. Kind of curious if this has been done on an E39 M5 as I might use them. Can anyone photoshop it up for me maybe? Thanks!

Great looking M5, welcome and congrats! I would love to hear a comparison of your M5 and 330ci as daily drivers after you have enough time to get used to the M5. I'm assuming the 330i would be more go-cart like and nimble, but would love to hear your perspective having lived in both of them.

Thanks everyone. This compared to my 01 330ci is huge. The weight is obvious and doesn't drive as you described as nimble. I am still getting used to it but the 330ci was light and I had it much lower so handling was incredible. I'm sure with time and the right suspension I will get the handling tuned. Wanted to get coils, sways and a rear strut. So far the power and low end torque in this is great. My supercharged 330ci didn't kick in until about 3500-4000 rpm. I'll keep you all updated..... Once again thanks!!!

Nice find bro! Welcome to "The Board"

Might want to lose the "Dinan" badge though?

Just kidding.

Welcome again!

I think I've seen this M5 driving around Oceanside. Haven't seen it a couple of months but remembered it was a black m5 with a Dinan badge. Wondering if it is the same one. Anyways, looks beautiful and congrats on the new purchase.

Could be the same one. I picked this up in Vista soooo.....

Blockdoc- I see you did the BSW upgrade. How much of an improvement is it and is it worth it. Thinking of going that route. Also the headers you have. Are they super loud? Any hassle from cops or CHP? Really thinking about it... Thanks!

Yeah, I saw the license plate holder so I figured you were in the neighborhood. What did you pay for your beast if you don't mind me asking
