Window Regulator?
Hello all,

I think i need to replace the window regulator on my 2000 M5. The motor works and moves the cable, i think the cable has stretched and now my window will not go up all the way and doesnt go down as it should. i pulled off the door panel and can see the mechanism, the cable has developed a kink around the round part where it winds... any idea where i should start, any part # for just the regulator and cable?

Seems like you need to buy the whole regulator.

Front Left : 51 33 8252393

Front Right : 51 33 8252394




My driver's side let go recently, strands of the metal cable started breaking then jamming up the whole thing !

By the way, you can now buy the parts in the pic (the regulator sans motor) really cheap on EBay. Don't go through dealer.

I need the PASSENGER SIDE REAR! Ive came across a few but im not sure what i need exactly, if someone has a part number please help! thank you ahead of time...

YOU SHOULD HAVE MENTIONED THAT ! One would always assume the fronts have failed due to the fact that they get more use, normally, than the rears !

and this is what the left rear one looks like, by the way, and they come with the motor unfortunately, unlike the fronts which you can buy without with motor :

You can find the rear regulator without the motor on eBay. I've replaced both on my 540 using these parts with no problems.

Fortunately, I've not had to replace them on the M5 yet.

I searched Ebay under that part number and its for vehicles up to 99, my car was built in 2000, i doubt theres a diffrence but can anybody confirm this?

According to realoem.com the parts changed in 1999. Probably because the old design was terrible.

Try:
51358252429 (left rear)
BMW E39 525i 528i 530i window regulator rear left NEW | eBay


51358252430 (right rear)
WINDOW REGULATOR 2002 BMW 5 SERIES E39 W/O MOTOR REAR R | eBay

Make sure you get the versions without motor.

I would email the first seller who is significantly cheaper and highly rated to see why he doesn't sell the right side as well.
