New clutch No charge!

I brought my 2000 M5 (9500 miles) to the dealer because my clutch was starting to spin.
I left the car and they gave me a 323i sport wagon to drive in the meantime.
The day after the dealer called me back telling me the parts were backorder from Germany.
After a week they called me again telling me the car was ready for pick-up!
When I arrived the car was ready on front all nice and detailed. My dealer came to me and gave me the receipt; Brand new Clutch and flywheel at no charge and no questions ask!
I was pleasantly surprised, thank them and left.
This is what I call excellent service.

So, the question is: Did they install the same clutch as before or was there some kind of upgrade?

I can't believe BMW will continue to pay these kinds of warranty expenses without fixing the fundamental problem.

Jerome,

Did you purchase your M5 from that dealer?

I wonder if because of a limited production of our car - loaner is a "nice feature" from any BMW dealer or only selling one.

Thanx,

Vas

According to my dealer, the Z8 clucth is the same as the M5 clutch. They both have the same p/n.

With all due respect to the previous poster, I just had MY clutch replaced. MY dealer said that they CAN'T use the Z8 clutch because the p/n IS different, and BMWNA instructed them to use the same (M5) clutch as the original.

Same here. My clutch was replaced at 10,000 miles and I was told that the Z8 clutch would not fit.
