Turn Signal Lighting Questions

I've seen a lot of discussions about people upgrading to the 2001 look and other interesting light questions, but I've never seen the following, so if I've missed it I apologize in advance.

Q1: Are the BULBS behind the clear front and rear turn indicator lenses WHITE or AMBER in Eurospec 2001 M5s?

I think the answer is WHITE.

Q2: If so, has anybody replaced their front and/or rear bulbs with WHITE bulbs?

I hate the fact that the turn indicators look amber from the front because of the bulb color. The rears look OK but if the Eurospec is WHITE/WHITE I'm tempted to copy it.

Q3: Does anybody know of any US law against WHITE turn indicators behind WHITE lenses?

Q4: Finally, what do people recommend for suppliers of the light bulbs - OEM from Germany or aftermarket?

TIA !!

I have replaced the front AMBER bulbs with white and it makes a large visual front improvement--one needs to either take the risk or satisfy themselves on the Johnnny Law issues JPN/Cdn 01M5/00X5 \\

Further option--consider taking out both front and rear flasher bulbs(amber) mask off and spray with white primer the 1st 3/4 " of the glass end leaving the rest amber--there will not be a heat build up sufficient to burn off the paint and it will soften the "face on" visual/hide the amber --yet on lighting be DOT complient!

Interesting idea! My physics background and visual inspection leads me to believe that a large part of the amber color comes from all parts of the bulb's surface being reflected by the focusing optics and mirror in the light's housing. I'm pretty sure those lights are easily removed and your theory could be tested w/ a piece of white tape.

I'll wait for others to weigh-in. Thanks
